People, I have to admit. When they hired GM Scot McCloughan I started to hope that the circus would shut down. I hoped that the team, the entire organization would be a professional operation. At the very least I hoped the headlines would be football related.
We aren't even through preseason yet. Let's take a look at things so far:
- Robert Griffin is apparently on his way out. Likely, they won't even be able to find a trade partner for him because of the contract option they picked up in the off season and the 2 years of awful production.
- I'm not sure they can even cut Griffin yet because he has a lingering possibly phantom concussion. Can you even imagine a full year of Griffin not as the starter but still on the roster?
- And now THIS
Beat reporter Diana Russini breaks a story (like reporters do) and attributes it to an unnamed source. (again, totally normal occurrence)
So, naturally, the GM's wife, Jessica McCloughan, (on Twitter) asks how many blowjobs Russini had to give to get the scoop... and if the recipients laughed at Russini before or after giving these allegedly blowjobs.
This is now confirmed as being a legitimate tweet from Jessica McCloughan in an apology from Scot McCloughan. I cannot easily recall such an uncalled for public attack on a journalist from someone who just got to town. This is new territory people.
I think we have to welcome the McCloughans to the family. They will fit right in.
The Washington Redskins folks. Never change. Always a circus.
